The Blue Note studio is located upstairs at 277 Peel Street, Tamworth, at the Hogs Breath end. Entry is via the stairs to the left of Struddys Sports. There is ample parking on street in Peel Street and in the Kable Avenue car park behind us.
Built in 1851, Pengilly House is the oldest building in its block. The first floor has been home to many businesses over time, including a dance school, Handley's Ballroom dance hall, accountants, the Dramatic Society, the Jacyees, Mike Vee Promotions and now Blue Note Photography and Design. Blue Note has restored the space to its former glory by pulling up the carpets and sanding back the sprung tallow wood floors and installing a beautiful photographic gallery
You are met upon entry to the foyer by dramatic Oriental Blue walls highighted by the warmth of the hardwood flors and picture frames and a lifesize portrait stretched from the floor to the ceiling. The main body of the studio features a Gallery, meeting spaces and large photographic studio. The centrepiece of the space is the large arch window overlooking Peel Street and the towns northern hills through a leafy aspect. A family or dance portrait in front of the arch window has become a frequent request and a Blue Note trademark.
It is a beautiful, relaxed and luxurious space ideal for portraiture as the subject can easily slip into a calm state of mind. The large but private studio space is ideally suited to both intimate portraits as well as larger groups, products of all sizes and video shoots. We have private change rooms and makeup areas and nice comfy lounges so you commence your shoot feeling relaxed and confident.
Please feel free to visit the Studio Monday to Friday to peruse the gallery or to inspect the larger Blue Note Portfolio.
